Fishing the Kenai River
After the catch of a lifetime? The world record King Salmon was caught right here in Soldotna! Sockeye, Silver (Coho) Salmon, Dolly Varden, Monster Rainbows, and More! You can fish on your own from the riverbank, (pictured above) or you can go out on the Kenai River with one of Soldotna’s excellent local guides, like Mike Adams with Alaskan Angling Adventures. Thanks Mike for letting us use this sweet photo! Children 14 and under don’t need fishing licenses. Free fishing pole rentals are available at the Soldotna Visitor Center.
